Pennsylvania and Fountain Avenues Landfill Restoration

The Dawson Corporation was hired by the NYCDEP to oversee the restoration of the Pennsylvania Ave and Fountain Ave landfills.  These sites are being capped with planting medium that approximates outer coastal plain topsoil.  The landfills have been seeded with a warm-season native grass mix and islands of native trees have been interspersed through out the landfills.  This matrix is designed to approximate a replicated ecosystem that would have existed in this location before man.
